WebJun 13, 2017 · The switch is a magnetic type switch and has to be lined up right to operate the switch. Synchromesh neutral switch powers transmission control relay which in turn powers forward & reverse relay, if F&R relay is no energized it will set the clutch disengage light. WebMar 10, 2008 · The grease fitting in the through bearing is to lube the graphite but it will not help with the stuck clutch. It should be greased twice a year. As it costs about $80 and you have to split the tractor to change it its is a good idea to keep it greased. PS when you start your tractor it should be in neutral with out stepping on the clutch.

WebJul 18, 2020 · First thing to do is tie the clutch pedal down for a few days. Maybe a week, and check it periodically. Also, you can pull the starter and spray brake cleaner onto the clutch thru the starter hole. Let it soak for a few days, and give it a go. In the future, keep the clutch pedal tied down whenever it sits idle for any amount of time.

WebJan 16, 2023 · Might be different issue, but we split a 495 and attempted to just put a clutch kit in and it wouldn't disengage, the flywheel was enough warped that the thicker new clutch was engaging the flywheel even with pedal down. He said to get the tractor moving and rev up the engine and then slam on the brakes. This is supposed to break away the pressure plate from the flywheel, I supposed. I did this 7 or 8 times, but it is still stuck.
